In a bid to penetrate deeper into the Indian market, the US based leading automobile manufacturer General Motors is strategizing new launches in the country after a magnificent showcase of its upcoming range for 2012 at the Auto Expo held earlier this year.

The latest launch by the auto giant was the new version of the compact MPV, Tavera Neo 3 and its launch platform was utilized by the company to announce its endeavors for this year.

General Motors revealed that it is targeting to roll out a premium hatchback, Chevrolet Sail in the 3rd quarter of this year along with a MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) Chevrolet Enjoy, which is the first ever collaborative product manufactured in alliance with the China based Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC).

Mr. Lowell C Paddock, the president and Managing Director, General Motors India, commented at the sidelines of the new Tavera Neo 3 launch, "We are exclusively announcing the MPV's name in Chennai. It is Enjoy. We will be introducing it by end of this year. It will be the first product from this tie-up."

The MPV, Enjoy is set to hit the Indian roads by the later 2012 and will be produced at the manufacturing facility at Halol in Gujarat while the engines will be lined up from the Talegaon plant.

With marginal rise in sales volume in the year 2011, the company is anticipating that the new launches relating to different car segments would capture a greater stake in the Indian auto market for General Motors.
