General Motors Launches New Aveo in India

General Motors launched the new model of Chevrolet Aveo on Thursday. The new model was launched in India as a part of company’s centenary year celebrations. The new Aveo U-VA comes with new exterior and interior features that include driver airbags, ABS system, keyless entry, burglar alarm for improved security and convenient ownership. The new leather wrapped steering wheel and gear know add to the interiors and driver’s appeal.

“The new Chevrolet U-VA now brings superlative value and additional safety, security and luxury to our customers, which is in line with our commitment to provide best-in-class products and services. With our Talegaon plant going into production last month, GM is now in a position to strengthen the company’s presence in the Indian market through the Chevrolet brand. We will now continue to roll out new products and also revitalize our existing line up to create new excitement in the market. We are confident that we will be able to capture a sizable portion of the domestic market by 2010,” said P Balendran, Vice President, GM India.

“The ongoing financial turmoil has not yet affected our plans in India," added Ankush Arora, General Motors India Vice President - Marketing, Sales and After-sales. The new variant of the hatchback model from General Motors is priced in the range of Rs. 3.9 lakh to Rs. 5.1 lakh. GM India has already started production at its Talegaon plant and aims to enhance its market share in India’s car market.
