General Motors in the US is battling its way through difficult times. It has stated now that once it steers clear of its bankruptcy it will acquire some of its strongest overseas business operations including General Motors India.
"The new company will acquire GM's strongest operations. They include GM subsidiaries outside the United States, including its operations in India and rest of the Asia Pacific region, which will continue to operate without interruption," General Motors India (GMI) said in a statement.

"The new GM will have a very positive impact on GM's operations in India as well. It will enable us to continue to take advantage of our company's global resources through the introduction of exciting new products and the continued commitment to our expansion plans for India," GMI President and Managing Director Karl Slym said.

General Motors India has remained unaffected from the unrest in parent company. GM India has already launched new models and other launches are already underway for the coming months. General Motors is planning to launch its crossover model Cruze shortly in India. It has also confirmed that it will launch its mini car also in India by the year end.
