With the upcoming Frankfurt Motors Show coming nearer, more and more leading luxury car makers are announcing to showcase their popular and upcoming vehicles at the show. So far, a number of car makers have announced their plans of launching and displaying new car models at this show including the likes of Ferrari, Porsche and Bugatti. The German auto giant Audi has also joined the league with the announcement of launching its 2013 A8 Hybrid model at this Motor Show.
Powered by a petrol engine and a small electric motor, the new Audi A8 Hybrid model will be carrying high power and torque figures with peak power reaching 254 bhp and peak torque to 345 lb-ft . While the electric motor of this model is capable of generating a peak power of 54 bhp along with a peak torque of 155 lb-ft, the efficient 2.0L TFSI petrol engine delivers a top power of 191 bhp along with a top torque of 190 lb-ft. The fuel efficiency of the car is expected to be in the range of 13 to 14 km per liter.
The new hybrid car will be carrying three driving modes including S model, D model and EV model, representing Sports model, equal emphasis on both electric motor and engine and maximum efficiency, respectively. Following its showcase at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the all new Audi A8 Hybrid is expected to debut in the European market by mid-2012.
