Suzuki, the Japanese bike maker, is testing a fully faired version of the Gixxer bike on the Indian roads. The vehicle shares most of its styling cues with its regular sibling. Features like fuel tank, wheels, braking system, exhaust and others will be directly borrowed from the Gixxer. It comes equipped with shield-shaped headlamps which is Suzuki’s signature design is offered on its sport bikes range.

Likely to be named the Suzuki GSX-R 150, the bike largely resembles the larger siblings - the Suzuki GSX-R 750 and the GSX-R 1000. The new bike is expected to be powered by the same 154.9cc engine that also powers the Gixxer. This engine is likely to churn out a maximum power output of 14.8bhp and a peak torque of 14Nm. This engine is clubbed with a five-speed gearbox.

The Suzuki GSX-R 150 will cost higher than the Gixxer and will compete against the likes of fully-faired Honda CBR150R and the Yamaha Fazer F1 V2.0. It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 85,000 to Rs. 95,000. Suzuki launched the Gixxer in the market in September this year at Rs. 72,199 ex-showroom, New Delhi.
