Skoda has unveiled the India-bound Karoq at the ongoing 2017 Frankfurt Motor show. The Karoq which is due for its international launch in October 2017, gets most of its style elements from its elder sibling, the Kodiaq. The five-seat D-segment SUV will be launched in India sometime in 2018 and will compete against the likes of Hyundai Tucson.

Skoda Karoq will be offered with two petrol and three diesel engine options. The former includes a new 1.0-litre turbocharged unit while the diesel ones include a top-of-the-line 2.0-litre mill that gets a seven-speed DSG and AWD as standard. The other engines can also be had with a six-speed manual as a part of the package. The Karoq will get ABS and EBD as standard while the automatic model will get stability programme and traction control system.

The European spec Karoq displayed at IAA 2017 gets black and grey interiors. However, for markets like India we believe that Skoda will also offer the black and beige trim as seen in models like the Superb and the Octavia. The standard feature list includes climate control, touchscreen infotainment system, rear AC vents and six airbags across the range. Some of the optional extras will include a digital instrument cluster, electrically adjustable front seats, rear entertainment packages and possibly a chrome trim package. Moreover, it will also get a host of accessories like window curtains and coat hooks.
