Tata Nano may be under scrutiny in India but car lovers around the world are anxiously awaiting the car. Now Moselle, a province of France, has invited Tata Motors to set up their Tata Nano project in the region. According to Moselle Development Agency Director General, M David Malingrey, the region has ample opportunities and facilities in the region to set up the project and bring Europe’s cheapest car by 2011. "Tata Motors should take a look at the Moselle province for establishing manufacturing and logistics units for Nano cars," he said.
Moselle is already home to Daimler’s manufacturing unit for its popular two-seater car Smart. The region offers ample opportunities for auto component manufacturers. Canadian automobile component maker Magna already has its manufacturing unit in this region.
Malingrey stated that setting up a plant in France in Moselle will also help Tata Motors to expand quickly in Europe and introduce its ultra-cheap car in the European market sooner than expected.
