      Ford showcases 2015 Focus at the Geneva Motor Show

      The American car maker, Ford has revealed upgraded version of Focus at the Geneva Motor Show. On the exterior front, the 2015 Ford Focus features Aston Martin-esque grille that ups the front look of the car. Elongated head lamps also contribute towards enhancing the appearance of front fascia.

      Tweaks have also been given inside the cabin which include a restyled steering wheel and centre stack with fewer switches and controls. A new distinctive feature that has been equipped inside the car is the new SYNC 2 in-car connectivity that comes with a high-resolution 8 inch touch screen. Several other upgrades like black satin trim and chrome inserts on the door trims and dashboard are also visible inside the car. Apart from this, the interiors also get an adjustable centre storage console.

      Europe bound Ford Focus will be powered by the new 1.5 litre EcoBoost turbocharged gasoline powertrain generating varied power outputs- 148 Bhp and 178 Bhp. The 1.5 litre TDCi diesel motor will also be proffered in two states of tune, 94 Bhp and 118 Bhp. Apart from the 1.5 litre TDCi diesel motor, the company will also offer a 2.0 litre TDCi diesel engine capable of engendering a peak power output of 148 Bhp. The 2.0 litre TDCi motor is said to be 14% more frugal than before.

      Ford Focus was also considered for the Indian automotive industry; however the plan could not be materialized owing to the high price tag of the vehicle. Ford is now focusing towards mass segment cars in India, EcoSport compact SUV which was launched last year is already roping in good monthly sales. Among upcoming products, Ford Figo Concept sedan is being developed which was showcased at the 12thAuto Expo last month.
