      Ford's 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine bags 'Engine of the Year' title for third consecutive year

      Ford’s efficient 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine has done it yet again, the renowned motor has bagged the ‘Engine Of The Year’ title for the third year in a row. Other than this EcoBoost has also won the title of “best engine under 1.0-litre”.

      Introduced in international markets in 2012, the 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine is now available in a total of 72 countries across the globe. In India, the engine was inducted in EcoSport compact SUV last year. Ford has also commenced producing the motor in China to suffice growing demand in Asia-Pacific region.

      Besides EcoSport, other nine models from Ford’s stable that are equipped with the EcoBoost engine include Fiesta, B-MAX, Focus, C-MAX and Grand C-MAX, Tourneo Connect, Grand Tourneo Connect, Transit Connect and Transit Courier. These models are not available in domestic market and are sold in other preeminent global markets. Including these two latest awards, EcoBoost has so far received 17 awards in two years.

      The three pot engine is capable of churning out varied power output of 100 PS, 125 PS and 140 PS.The 1.0 litre EcoBoost mill comes fitted with the most petite turbochargers along with various other inventive technologies including aluminium cylinder head with an integrated exhaust manifold, low tension piston rings, low friction crank seals and a cam belt that is sheltered in oil enabling low maintenance.
