American carmaker Ford has pioneered automotive engineering with over decades of presence across segments in the global market. Chinese automobile market has always been very favourable for global carmakers. This year, the Chinese market has indeed been more favourable to Ford who has managed to achieve sales number of about 1,007,425 units, in just about 11 months and the number are likely to further rise with about a month still to go for this year sales. The sales numbers are indeed about 20% higher than the one reported last year in the same period.
Speaking more on the occasion, John Lawler, CEO of Ford Motor China, said, “Crossing the million vehicle mark is a significant milestone for Ford in China, and it demonstrates the appeal of our portfolio of high-quality, safe, fuel-efficient and smart vehicles. We look forward to continued growth as we expand production capacity and introduce great new Ford vehicles to serve our Chinese customers.”
Ford’s Mondeo, also known as Fusion in the US, has been a major contributor to this new feat. Mondeo sales reached about 111,576 units that are indeed about an incredible 83% up in comparison to the same period last year. As for the November sales number, the company has reported about 20% growth in comparison to the same period last year.
