This year’s SEMA Show has played host to an entirely new global race car from Ford. The car in question is the Mustang GT4 - a track-ready model designed to compete in sports car championship racing series globally, including the GT4 European Series.
The Mustang GT4 puts Ford head-to-head with competition from Porsche and Aston Martin among others. The car features a naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V8 racing engine specifically tuned for GT4 competition. Paired to it is a 6-speed paddle shift gearbox .The GT4 powertrain also carries a dry sump oiling system, ZF-developed twin-plate racing clutch and flywheel.
As for suspension, brakes and tyres, the Mustang GT4 gets adjustable dampers, lightweight forged alloy wheels and rotors and six-piston calipers from Brembo. Aerodynamic enhancements on the Mustang GT4 include a rear wing, front splitter, hood venting and rear diffuser.
