      Cars from American carmaker Ford's stable have been a popular pick in the US automobile market. In order to ensure timely delivery of F-150 pick-up truck, the company has reportedly been planning on adding about 1,550 workers at four plants to boost production of aluminum-bodied F-150 pickup trucks. The hike will likely cause between 300 and 500 UAW members earning Tier 2 hourly wages of $19.28 with a rise to about top-tier status with hourly wages of $28.50.

      Bill Dirksen, Ford Vice President of labor affairs has added that strong sales has just left about 12-day supply for 2015 F-150. The new hires shall receive Tier Two wages of about $16 an hour, which is about half of those received by hourly Ford workers. Under current contract terms they also stand to receive about 5% increase in wage till the time they reach about $19.28 per hour. Of the 1,550 jobs, about 900 openings are for Ford's truck plant in Kansas City whereas the rest shall be at three stamping, auto parts and axle plants located near Detroit.
