Industry experts believe that the EcoSport will be competitively priced in the country as Ford India is planning to locally manufacturer the engine of this SUV. Reportedly, the petrol model is expected to be priced between Rs. 6 lakh and 6.5 lakh, whereas the diesel guise will be offered with a price tag of around Rs. 7 lakh.
However, it must be noted that none of the company officials have officially declared the launch date of EcoSport for the Indian auto market. But auto analysts are anticipating that the model will sparkle at the Indian shores somewhere in June 2013 amid great buzz. On the launch, a source close to the development process was quoted as saying, “After completion of the campaign, the company will formally launch EcoSport in the Indian market. Most probably by June end it will be launched.” The launch of a new model will surely help the American auto maker to establish a strong foothold in the compact utility vehicle segment of the Indian auto market, which has been witnessing great volumes from a long time.
