US based leading car maker Ford unveiled two new engines on Tuesday including one petrol and one diesel engine. Both engines have a capacity of 1.5L and will be powering company’s popular Fiesta sedan.
The 1.5L diesel engine will be delivering a peak power of 89.72 bhp along with a peak torque of 20.81 kgm. The diesel engine of the car will be delivering an impressive mileage of 23.5 kmpl (as per ARAI). At a time when, the demand for diesel run cars is shooting upwards, the new diesel version of the car can prove a sales booster for the Fiesta series. The prospective 1.5L engine will be replacing the existing 1.4L Duratorq engine of the car.
The new 1.5L petrol unit will deliver a peak power of 108.46 bhp. The engine is blessed with Ti-VCT – Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing. The petrol version will be delivering a class leading mileage of 17 kmpl.
Both petrol and diesel engine are coupled with five speed manual transmissions. The new Fiesta variants powered by these new engines are expected to hit the Indian roads within next few months.
