The American auto giant, Ford has come up with a plan to rename its ‘Fiesta Classic’ as just ‘Classic’, which will then continue in the Indian auto market in both petrol and diesel versions. Since the car is being introduced with a new brand name, it is quite obvious to come with some facelifts. Features like a new spoiler and a unique set of alloy wheels are some of the main highlights of the upcoming model. The car is designed using black plastics and aluminium inserts, which enables the car to deliver a warm welcome to its passengers.

However, the safety features have not been compromised with, which shows the concern of car maker towards the protection of its customers. Advancements like fog lamps in front as well as rear, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), dual front airbags and rear defoggers are packed within the car.

Ford has a deep connection with India as it has been more than a decade since the car maker made its foray in the same. The auto giant initiated its independent brand marketing in the domestic market with the launch of its Ikon, placed in C segment. At that time, Ikon was offered as the sedan guise of Fiesta. However, in 2005 the American auto giant introduced its Fiesta sedan, which performed remarkably well in the Indian market and made fortunes for Ford. Following the success, the company introduced a revamped version of its Fiesta sedan in 2011.

During the initial stages, the all-new Fiesta was not performing well in the market as its high prices were unable to pull the masses. However, some aggressive price cuts made the whole scenario favourable for the company and gave birth to Fiesta Classic. The new model is economically placed in the market, which has helped it to grab the attention of a large number of buyers.

Considering the price of new sedan, its Duratec 1.6 Petrol LXi version is tagged with a price of Rs. 5.54 lacs, whereas the Duratec 1.6 Petrol CLXi is offered for Rs. 6.19 lacs. The top end variant in petrol series, Duratec 1.6 Petrol SXi, is priced at Rs. 7.53 lacs. Presenting the prices of diesel versions, its base version, Duratorq 1.4 Diesel LXi, is provided for a sum of Rs. 6.81 lacs, whereas the Duratorq 1.4 Diesel CLXi model is tagged with Rs. 7.23 lacs. The top end variant in diesel series, Duratorq 1.4 Diesel SXi, is priced at Rs. 8.48 lacs.

The company anticipates that the new avatar of Fiesta will efficiently square off against Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire and other leading cars of the same segment. Ford claims that ‘Classic’ has a brilliant handling package, which is quite necessary in the urban driving conditions. Owing to its industry-leading features in a competitive price range, analysts believe that the car maker will be appreciated by the Indian buyers.
