In recent time the number of recalls called for by leading carmakers across the globe has witnessed a manifold increase. This time around Ford has identified an issue with the ignition key in Fusion sedan sold in North American region. The problem identified is that the key can be taken out even when the car is not in the "Park" position for 30 minutes after the ignition is off. This factor reportedly violates U.S. Regulation that involves theft protection and roll-away prevention.

As of now, no reports of accidents or injuries due to this problem has been reported. Ford has announced 65,000 Fusion sedans recalls from North American market to fix the issue on an immediate basis. Ford has also added that about 56,500 of the Fusion sedans in this recall are registered in the United States, whereas about 6,000 of them are in Canada and another 2,350 are in Mexico. The company probably just needs to give the cars a software upgrade, and this would be done at no additional cost to the owner.
