Following the official unveil of Ka hatchback (sold as Figo hatchback in India), Ford Brazil has now unveiled production version of Ka+ sedan (Ford Figo sedan). The sedan was unveiled online for the auto enthusiasts around the world. Ka+ sedan will be produced at the company’s manufacturing facility located in Camacari, Bahia. August is when Ford will launch Ka+ sedan in Brazil, followed by launch in various other preeminent markets across the globe. In India the sedan will be launched with a different name, ‘Figo Sedan’, a glimpse of which was seen at the 2014 Auto Expo earlier this year.

We expect Figo sedan to be made available for sale in domestic market by early next year. Figo sedan will replace the conventional Classic sedan that has been present in the country for quite a while. Brazil-spec Ka+ sedan will measure a little more than four meters, however, Indian avatar of sedan on the other hand will be under-four meter making it qualify for the low excise duty levied on sub-four meter cars.

Similarities can be seen in the production version Ka+ sedan and the concept version of Figo sedan showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo, in Greater Noida in February. Though there are traits of difference in the form of tweaked aerodynamic curves and creases. In the front, the trapezoidal grille inspired from Aston-Martin gel perfectly well with the elongated head lights rendering an appealing look to the front profile of the sedan. Inside the cabin, traits of Fiesta and other Ford cars can be noticed. Centre console and instrument console have been borrowed by Fiesta sedan. Features like multi-functional steering wheel affixed with Bluetooth and audio controls have been equipped inside the cabin.

Ford Brazil has packed Ka+ sedan with a robust 1.0 litre, three cylinder, flex-fuel motor that generates a maximum power output of 85 Bhp along with a top torque of 105 Nm. The high end version of the sedan is likely to be powered by a 1.5 litre engine good for 111 Bhp.
