The Ford Figo hatchback and the Ford Aspire compact sedans will now be offered with ABS as a paid option on the entry-level Trend trim. To be called Trend+, the ABS equipped trim is offered at Rs 12,000 over the standard Trend variant.
Ford Figo and Aspire base variants get ABS for additional Rs 12,000
With a lot of Indian car makers offering ABS as standard or an option across their range, Ford has ensured that its entire range of products gets ABS at least as an option right from the base trim. The Aspire is a compact sedan and competes with the Volkswagen Ameo, the Honda Amaze, Maruti Dzire and Hyundai Xcent. The Aspire is doing considerably well for Ford as it offers good looks along with a sturdy build at a price tag that competes neck-to-neck with Maruti and Hyundai.
The Ford Figo is a B-segment hatchback that competes with the likes of the Maruti Swift and the Hyundai Grand i10 thanks to the price repositioning a couple of months ago. The sales of the Figo have taken a hit in November in the wake of demonetisation and the added safety should be able to make a case for the capable hatchback in the Indian market.
With the annual price hikes starting to take effect, the price of the EcoSport has been increased by about Rs 5,000 while the fully-loaded Ford Endeavour 3.2 4x4 Titanium variant has gone up by almost Rs 77,000.
