Ford is doing the final preparation to launch its much awaited Ford Fiesta sedan in India, buzz has it that the tweaked Fiesta could be launched this week in the domestic market. Sources close to the development reveal that Ford will organize a small event where the diesel variant of Fiesta facelift will be launched. Petrol version of the sedan will be rolled out later at the end of this year. Ford had shown the tweaked version of sedan at the 2014 Auto Expo earlier this year at the 2014 Auto Expo.
The sedan donned several modifications on the outer and interior front. Exteriors will get a sporty semblance, in the front a bold Aston Martin inspired grille with chrome inserts go unnoticed, revamped bumper sports redesigned head lights and fog lamps assembly. Insignificant changes have been made to the side profile of the sedan which is visible in the form of new wheels and wheel covers. Rear largely remains the same except for the new tail lights assembly. Inside the cabin we also see a number of new features including automatic climate control , cruise control, guide me home lamps, height adjuster for the driver seat, entry start/stop button, auto head lights and several others. Among the safety features, the sedan will be bestowed with rear parking sensors, Sync with the ‘Emergency Assist;, Anti-Lock-Braking-System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, dual airbags among other secondary security features.
Media reports reveal that new Fiesta will be offered in three trim levels including Ambiente, trend and Titanium. Ford will pack the 2014 version of Fiesta with a 1.5 litre turbocharged diesel powerplant engendering a peak power output of 90 Bhp. A five-speed manual gearbox will be mated to the diesel engine. Petrol variants which will come by the end of this year will come housed with a 1.5 litre petrol engine, other than this a 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine could also be put on offer.
