Ford is all set to launch its Fiesta AT on February 28th 2012. The car is expected to be introduced with a price tag of Rs. 11 lacs. Launch of this car was scheduled at the 11th New Delhi Auto Expo but due to some reasons its launch has been delayed. As per reports, the automatic version of Fiesta will be loaded with a dual-clutch powershift gearbox, which is not usually available in the mid-sized sedans. This technology is provided in top-end models like Volkswagen Jetta and Skoda Laura.
Only in the petrol variant of this car, new six-speed transmission will be available. The car will also have uphill and descent assist. Apart from this, it will also be loaded with various safety features, which includes brake assist, central locking, power door locks, anti-lock braking system, child safety locks, driver airbag, and passenger airbag.
Even though, the car maker is not providing paddle shifters in the new Ford Fiesta AT, it is still considered as the most hi-tech transmission in its segment. Compared to its predecessor, the new model is likely to be more economical in terms of mileage. It is expected that Ford Fiesta AT will provide mileage of 16.45 kmpl.
