      Ford Endeavour to be launched during the festive season

      The all-new Ford Endeavour will be launched in India during this festive season. In fact, the company has dispatched the first batch of the vehicle to its dealerships. Expected to be priced around Rs. 20 lakh – 25 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Ford Endeavour will be pitted against the Chevrolet Trailblazer and Toyota Fortuner.       Built on Ford’s Edge design philosophy, the new Endeavour looks largely identical the ‘Everest concept’, which was unveiled in Australia in 2013. On the outside, the car features sweptback projector headlamps, a trapezoidal chrome grille, LED daytime-running lights, modified bumper, aluminum scuff plate, new fog lamps, flared wheel arches, large chrome bar with the license plate, new horizontal wraparound taillights, etc. 
       
      Key features on offer will be  SYNC2 infotainment system with eight-inch display screen, eight-way adjustable front seats, a nine-speaker audio system, front parking sensors, Terrain management system with pre-adjust settings, power adjustable third row seats and driver knee airbags. 
       
      The engine options on offer will be - a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder TDCi and a 3.2-litre, five-cylinder TDCi – coupled with 4X4 and 4X2 drivetrain system respectively. While the smaller capacity 2.2-litre engine puts out 158bhp of power and 385Nm of torque, the 3.2-litre diesel unit offers 197bhp and 470Nm of torque. 
       
      Both the engine will be paired to a six-speed automatic transmission, while a six-speed manual gearbox will be offered only on the 2.2-litre diesel model. Unlike the existing model, the new Endeavour will get an independent coil-spring suspension at the rear axle. The new ladder frame chassis will further aid to its handling and off-road capabilities.
