      Ford Ecosport to cost more, Ford Classic to get cheaper

      Ford EcoSport has been selling like hot cakes since its launch a while ago. The car created a stir in the market even before its launch due to its smart design and Ecoboost engine. Moreover, the car being offered at an irresistible price of 5.59 lakhs that made it a true hot-seller. The urban SUV that was launched in June 2013, witnessed its first price hike during the Diwali Festival. The price hike ranged between Rs. 22,000 to Rs. 38,000 across different variants. The price hike didn't really go down well with new interested buyers, especially when Ford decided to drop two key features such as Push button start and keyless entry option from its top end Titanium model.

      The new year does not seem to have brought joy to the new interested Ford Ecosport buyers. Unjustified rise in material cost and other applicable taxes on the urban SUV shall cost your dearer by Rs. 75,000 across all variants. Based on cumulative figures, the total hike is around 11% in just last six months, this means that the lucrative base model price of 5.59 lakhs is history and the car shall now cost 6.19 lakhs. Added to it, every new customer is put on a never-ending waiting period owing to huge demand for the car. Top model from the production line, the Diesel EcoSport in Titanium Option Pack trim will empty your pockets by Rs. 9,74,000. Ford in an attempt to comfort displeased customers offered discounts of up to 10,000 on other cars from its production line. But then, with wider car options in the market at a similar price this really wasn't an option.

      Interested buyers of sedans from the Ford line are in for a treat, as prices for the Classic sedan has been slashed up to Rs. 1 Lakh. Ford Classic is not exactly a new car, its just the new avatar of the Ford Fiesta. The price for Ford Classic starts from Rs 4.99 lakhs for base petrol variant and goes up to Rs. 7.6 lakhs for top end diesel variant. The price cut has put this car in straight line of competition with other sub four meter sedans like Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze and Tata Indigo eCS.
