Ford India Private Limited (FIPL), a completely owned subsidiary of American auto maker Ford Motor Co., is going to unveil its much awaited EcoSport compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) at the local shopping malls of Mumbai and New Delhi. As per reports, the Ford EcoSportmodel will be kept on display for three days at Select City Walk mall situated in Saket, New Delhi and Infinity Mall located in Malad, Mumbai, starting from March 15, 2013.
The public showcase will help the American auto major in cultivating a pre-launch fan following for its upcoming compact SUV model amid Indian car enthusiasts. Evidently, the EcoSport is one of the most eagerly awaited new model arrivals scheduled for 2013 calendar year in the country. Ford India is yet to reveal the actual launch date and introductory price of the much hyped EcoSport compact SUV, but considering the latest brand development exercises one might feel that the arrival is just around the corner. Further, after sitting for three days long in New Delhi and Mumbai, the EcoSport will head for a similar showcase at the Ambience Mall situated in Gurgaon between March 22 and 24, 2013, and later to Mantri Square Mall located in Bangalore March 29 and 31, 2013.
The Ford EcoSport compact SUV will be powered with the renowned 1.0 litre EcoBoost powertrain under its bonnet that rolls out a peak output power close to 120 bhp. Industry experts feel that the yet-to-be launched EcoSport model could see Indian daylight with introductory price tags in the range between Rs. 9 lakhs and Rs. 10 lakhs in the utility vehicle segment of domestic auto market. Upon its arrival at the Indian shores, Ford EcoSport will be pitched against the likes of Renault Duster, Mahindra Quantoand Premier Rio in the country.
