      Ford struck gold in the Indian market with its compact SUV named 'Ecosport'. The compact SUV has recently earned the title for India's most awarded passenger car and has accumulated about 30 awards in the Indian market. Ecosport has everything going in its favor – Eye-catchy design, Good Performance, Reliability and Efficiency were its unique selling preposition. Moreover, the key mantra that worked for the SUV from Ford was the very lucrative price tag that made it a hot-seller. The car during its launch, was offered at a lucrative price tag of Rs 5.94 lakh for petrol variant and Rs 7.13 lakhs for the diesel variant, both the prices are for the base variant in their respective segment.

Compact exterior does not eat-up on the cabin space as most often seen with cars in this category. American carmaker Ford has also given due importance to safety factor. The compact SUV comes with traction control and Electronic Stability Program (ESP) to tackle corner with ease. The car is loaded with 6 airbags which is standard in Titanium AT and Titanium optional models. Controlling the car at high speeds is not a task for the Ecosport with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and EBD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution) technology.

      Ford Ecosport, the compact SUV is available in petrol and diesel variants. The petrol version is powered by 1.5 Litre and 1.0 Litre petrol engine that generates about 112 Ps of power with 140 Nm of torque and 125 Ps of power with 170 Nm of torque respectively. The diesel version is powered by 1.5 Litre engine that generates about 91Ps of power with 204Nm of torque. The 1.0 Liter petrol variant delivers around 18.9 kmpl, the 1.5 Liter petrol variant delivers around 16.15 kmpl and the diesel variant with 1.5 liter engine delivers around 22.7 kmpl. The compact SUV gets a EPAS with Pull Drift Compensation technology for steering for maximum control. For a comfortable ride, the car gets Independent McPherson strut with coil spring and anti-roll bar for the front, whereas the rear gets Semi-independent twist beam with twin gas and oil filled shock absorbers.

      With a loaded list of interesting features comes a huge swarm of interested buyers who have been smitten by the Ecosport charm. Owing to huge demand and popularity, the compact SUV has been playing hard to get in the Indian market.
