Ford EcoSport facelift debut likely in 2015 Geneva Motor Show

American automaker, Ford is likely to debut the EcoSport crossover facelift at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The vehicle is expected to go on sale in the European market by 2015 end. The similar upgrades are also expected to make its way to the Indian car market in 2016.

The updated EcoSport has already been spotted testing on the European roads. The facelifted SUV misses out on the spare wheel mounted on the rear door for a cleaner design. The removal of the external spare wheel will give Ford designers to change the rear profile to upgrade the overall styling of the car.

The licensing plate enclosure has been positioned to the rear door instead of the bumper. This could lead a slight change to the rear bumper to touch-up the missing number plate holder. We also expect that the removal of the spare wheel would lead into an increase to the boot space.

The mechanical bits of the Ford EcoSport facelift expected to remain unchanged. The petrol version would continue to feature the 1.0-litre EcoBoost and the 1.5-litre petrol motors that are capable of producing 123bhp and 110bhp of power, respectively. The oil burner continues to feature the current 1.5-litre unit that develops 90bhp.
