The American carmaker highlighted their long-term plans of establishing a better future city by optimising the way people travel. With ridesharing, electric vehicles, and connected technology, the city of tomorrow will be easier to live in with better sustainability, believes the Blue Oval. With this transition in mind, Ford has signed a memorandum of understanding with the city of Indore in order to help the carmaker with a better understanding of these future mobility solutions in the country.

This MOU will help the Indore public transport manage and plan its infrastructure through a better implementation of technology and data analytics. Ford India will extend its support in the development of custom city transportation solutions for improved mobility in the Indore city.

At the symposium, matters of current Indian transport condition were discussed along with its solutions in the essential areas of improvement. The commitment of India in improving its public transportation system will help the country to better welcome the city of tomorrow. The imminent electric future of Indian transportation scenario was also brought up. The discussion reflected a promising transition from fossil fuel to zero-emission transport network in the country.

Ford has been developing the next generation of mobility ideas for quite some time now. It’s one of the forerunners in autonomous technology in the world. The carmaker has also launched several mobility initiatives in countries across Asia. For instance, Ford has on-demand shuttle experiments in Shanghai. These shuttles are optimizing the algorithms for an efficient transportation service. Ford has also invested a major chunk in India’s Zoomcar car sharing company. The carmaker also intends to open a new Smart Mobility Innovation Hub in Chennai to explore new data-driven solutions for mobility problems.
