      Ford calls back more than 2,02,000 vehicles in five separate recalls

      American carmaker Ford has announced recalls of over 2,02,000 vehicles citing flaws like stalling, air bag sensors failure, gas leaks and other issues. The largest recall announced by Ford has about this year's 135,000 Ford Flex and F-150 vehicles that may have been sold with faulty seat sensor that prevents deployment of airbags in an event of crash.

      For the second time, about 38,600 Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Cars that were sold between from 2005 to 2011 have been called problems in the steering shaft that could lead to sudden loss of steering control. The notified vehicles shall be inspected by dealers and defective parts shall be replaced.

      About 27,600 Transit Connect small vans from Ford shall be recalled due to problems in the fuel line that can leak and cause fire. Some of its trims have also been identified as having a faulty fuel filter bracket that can detach and cause engine stalling which may result in fatal crash.

      Ford has stood on No. 2 position in the US market and has been aware of one incident wherein a vehicle had been improperly repaired. But no injuries have been reported due to to the issue and the company has announced a recall that also covers previously incorrect repair works conducted.
