Ford and Mahindra had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) back in September 2017, initially for a period of three years. Both the companies have decided to join hands over technology sharing and future development. The 2019 Ford Aspire electric will be the first product to be introduced post the collaboration. Interestingly, the upcoming Aspire electric will be the most affordable electric car across the globe.
Reports further indicate that Ford and Mahindra have been working on a new platform for an SUV body type. Although the plans are in its initial phase for now, reports indicate that the design will be unique for both the companies, in line with their brand philosophies - meaning one will be for Mahindra while the other for Ford. Technical details are not available for now, however reports indicate that the electric motor might be borrowed from the e-Verito.
More details on the Ford Aspire electric will be known in the days to come. We however speculate that the new Aspire electric might get a powerful battery with a quick charging function.
