Ford announces recall of about 20,728 vehicles including Mustang and Transit Connect cargo vans

This year has not been too impressive for carmakers from across the globe. This time around Ford has figured out new issues with its popular Mustang muscle car and Transit Connect cargo vans. Among the 20,728 units recalled, 20,000 units are for 2014 Ford Transit Connect cargo vans that have sold in the US, whereas the rest 728 units are for 2015 Ford Mustangs. The problem identified with Transit Connect cargo vans are issues pertaining to plastic panels attached on the sliding door. The panels have not been stuck properly thereby chances are that it may rattle, develop leaks or even separate when the vehicle is in motion.

As for the 728 units of 2015 Mustangs recalled from Canada and United States, the company has identified issues with incorrectly installed fuel pressure sensor that can cause fuel leak and also possibility result in fire. Ford has denied being aware of any incident being reported until now that has resulted in injury or loss of lives. Ford dealers shall replace the faulty sensor at no additional cost to the owner. Moreover, the dealers shall also remove and reinstall the sliding door panels by following right procedures and using apt materials for the job.
