American automaker Ford has achieved a new milestone with the production of 5-millionth model that has been equipped with an EcoBoost engine. The carmaker rolled out the milestone model powered by 1.0-litre, three-cylinder EcoBoost engine from its Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne. About 6 years ago the company had first rolled out Taurus SHO with an EcoBoost engine. Since then, there has been no looking back and the company had been rolling out various trims powered by EcoBoost engines across the passenger vehicle line-up.
The modern technology laden engine has also been awarded with titles like 'International Engine of the Year'. In the Indian market, Ford has been delivering its EcoSport compact SUV that is powered by a 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine. The vehicle has been tuned to generate a power output of about 123 bhp with a massive torque output of about 170 Nm. Apart from the top end Titanium variant that sports the EcoBoost engine, the upcoming Figo hatchback and sedans shall also receive the new engine.
