Pune based auto maker, Force Motors has proclaimed that it will put on sale its off-road vehicle, Gurkha effective September this year. The off-roader will be available for test drive and bookings from September at the company’s personal vehicle dealerships.
Force Motors Gurkha will be housed with a 2.6 litre, OM engine sourced from Mercedes. An array of features will be offered on Gurkha. The vehicle is said to possess a high ground clearance.
Force Motors is a renowned name when it comes to commercial vehicles, Trump, Trax and Balwan tractors used for agricultural purpose are among the commercial vehicle manufactured by the company. The company forayed into the passenger vehicle segment three years ago in 2011 with the launch of Force Motors SUV. Gurkha would be the second offering by the company in passenger vehicle segment. The company recently started delivering LX variant of Force One SUV that is being offered in domestic market for Rs 13.98 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Currently there are three trims in the Force Once range that includes, EX, SX and newly added LX trim. Despite being equipped with Mercedes sourced engine and a host of advanced features, Force One could not strike a chord with the customers in India. However, the auto maker is hopeful that in coming time Force SUV will get its due in the form of decent sales.
