Force Motors, which launched its 26-seater Traveller Van on October 16, 2012, said that the company has a target of selling 1,000 units of this new vehicle by March next year and a total of 4,500 units in the next financial year.

Force Motors Managing Director Prasan Firodia said that the company would raise Traveller's production at its Pune and Pithampur (MP) plant in the next three years with an investment of Rs. 1,000 crore. An investment of Rs. 700 crore would be made at its Pithampur plant alone and the rest at the Pune plant.

Firodia further said that Force Motors expects a turnover of Rs. 3,000 crore this financial year, which stood at Rs. 2,400 crore in the previous fiscal.

Answering to a question, he said that the company would also manufacture a nine seater van for Mercedes Benz in the next few years. Firodia also said that the company would increase its market share in this segment to 20 per cent, which presently stands at 15 per cent.

Force Motors total turn over consisted of 7 to 8 per cent of exports to countries like UAE, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and other European nations, he said.

Naresh Kumar Rattan, President (corp, sales and marketing), along with Firodia added that the Pithampur plant currently rolls out 36,000 vehicles per annum, which would be increased to one lac units. Rattan also added that the company would make similar launches having good fuel efficiency, safety and large space.
