      Force India join hands with GP2 team Hilmer Motorsport

      Country's pride, Force India is the latest team to partner with GP2 team. The partnership is expected to provide ample development opportunities for new young drivers. Thirteen teams had participated in the 2013 season, wherein Hilmer Motorsport had stood sixth on the grid list. Daniel Abt, who stood 22nd in last year's driver's list, has teamed up with Facu Regalia, the Argentinian youngster who had finished second in last year's race.

      Vijay Mallya, Team Principal of Sahara Force India, said,"Our presence in GP2 moves us closer to having a holistic development program to school drivers from grassroots karting to the higher echelons of professional motorsport. With Facu Regalia and Daniel Abt we have two very talented young drivers with the potential to progress to Formula 1. We will do our best to support them on their way to the pinnacle of motor racing." Speaking more on the occasion Franz Hilmer, Team Principal of the GP2 squad, said, “I've had an association with Sahara Force India for ten years and we are looking forward to working together on a sporting level going forward. With Facu Regalia and Daniel Abt we have two very talented young drivers with the potential to progress to Formula One. We will do our best to support them on their way to the pinnacle of motor racing.”

      Argentinian driver Facu Regalia, said, “I appreciate the belief Franz Hilmer showed in my performances last year and the opportunity to race with him in 2014. I am also very proud to be associated with Sahara Force India and will make the most of the opportunities it presents. The chance to drive a Formula One car at the end of the season is also a huge motivation. My focus is to work as hard as I can to make sure we are fighting at the front of the field and getting the best results possible.” Moving onto German driver Daniel Abt, he said, “I am determined to have a successful year with Hilmer Motorsport in the GP2 Series and I'm sure that we have the right package to achieve our ambitious goals.”

      Round 1 and 2 for the 2014 season is slated to begin from April 4th at Sakhir International Circuit, Bahrain. With a new car for this season, the race track shall surely be set on fire by the country's very own power-pack racer.
