Goa is the venue for the India’s only international off-road motorsport event, the Force Gurkha RFC India event. The 2015 edition of the motorsport extravaganza shall be held from 24th to 31st July and Wockhardt Hospitals has been associated with the event as its official medical partner.
The India Edition of the Rainforest Challenge (RFC), which is counted among the top ten toughest motor races in the World, was launched in Goa in August last year amidst much fanfare. The event saw 22 teams competing for the RFC India title in extremely tough off-road conditions where they had to complete 24 Special Stages (SS) in four competitive legs at various locations in Goa including Dona Paula, Morlem and Kumari. This year, around 40 teams are expected to compete in the event and taking care of their first-aid as well as other medical needs will be the responsibility of the team of specialists at Cuncolim-based NUSI Wockhardt Hospital.
While the first competitive leg, the Prologue, will take place in Dona Paula, the other three legs of the event, i.e. the Predator, the Terminator and the Twilight Zone, will be held in uncharted terrains of Goa. NUSI Wockhardt Hospital will have an important task of ensuring that everyone involved in Force Gurkha RFC India 2015, right from the competitors to the organizers to hundreds of touring adventurers and off-roading enthusiasts who will be converging in Goa to witness this one-of-its-kind event held in the country, have immediate access to medical assistance in case of an injury or any other medical problem arising during the course of the event. A fully-equipped ambulance will be on standby throughout the course to deal with minor injuries, food poisoning, insect bites, skin rashes caused by the rain, fractures et al.
