      FMSCI and Sportscraft to organise 3rd round of Gulf Dirt Track National Championship in Jodhpur from 6-7 October, 2012

      The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) in collaboration with Sportscraft will organise the 3rd round of the Gulf Dirt Track National Championship in Jodhpur from 6-7 October, 2012. The previous two rounds were held in Mangalore and Aurangabad and attracted huge turnout of participants and spectators from all over the country.

      FMSCI has devised the event conforming to the rules and regulations of the International Sporting Code of the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) and its own National Competition Rules (NCR). Gulf Oil Corporation Limited, among the leading automobile lubricant providers in the country, has been roped in by FMSCI as the title sponsor for the two day adrenaline rushing dirt race event, which attracted a number of dirt driving aficionados from all regions of India in the previous two rounds.

      The off-road adventure sports event will be conducted at Polo Ground, Panchbutti Circle, Ratanada in Jodhpur and promises to give crackling two days of thrilling action, just like at its last two rounds. The Jodhpur is third in line to the five rounds planned whose scheduled locations have not yet been decided by FMSCI and Sportscraft.

      Dirt track racing is an extreme form of off-road motor sports and demands extremely high instinctive manoeuvring and balancing of bikes around the tight corners. The drivers are meant to conquer dirt rigged tracks with great pace and excellent precision. The extremely high popularity of dirt track racing over the last two editions of the event, entailed Gulf Oil to again sponsor the event. The off-roading event offers a sublime opportunity to thrill seekers for realising their avocations, besides experiencing adrenaline rush is a safe and controlled environment.

      Reportedly, the Championship involves Foreign Motorcycles up to 240 cc in Group A,

      Indian Novice Class with motorcycles between 130-165 cc in Group C, Private Expert Class and Indian Expert Class with motorcycles up to 260 cc in Group B, Local Class with motorcycles up to 165 cc in Group C and an Open Event with scooters up to 260 cc.

      Accordingly, the third round of the Gulf Dirt Track National Championship will feature 6 classes in the Championship round. The winning participants can avail the total prize money of Rs.1,75,000, besides the honourable trophies that the FMSCI will present at the end of the event. Interestingly, the riders, which score maximum points in all five rounds will be presented with spoils of war amounting to Rs. 4,50,000.
