Audi RS 7 has finally landed as a new contender in the sportscar battle and is already turning much heads owing to its high-performance styling. The German car maker is claiming this car to be its most aggressive creation till date and is betting big to achieve new feats in sportscar segment. What makes this car more interesting apart from an enthralling ride experience is the fact that its configurations is of a sedan-type. The car is equipped with all basic features that take it into the league of luxury sedans but at the same time, the engine of this car turns it into a speed cruiser, ready to slay the roads. Audi RS 7 exhibits some unique features of company's innovatory minds, which shall be brought to limelight.
Primarily, the basic layout of Audi RS 7 is aerodynamically enhanced with flares on the outer body that easily cut through gush of winds at high speed, thereby, keeping the car stable on roads. The chassis is constructed with a hybrid aluminium to make the car more agile on bends. Front displays an immaculate artistry of single frame grille equipped in the form of a honeycomb. LED's are lumped for efficient Daytime Running and the company's exclusive oval dual exhausts have been provided at rear.
At interiors, Valcona leather comprise the upholstery with a honeycomb design stitching. Front seats can be heated and rear can be reclined for utmost comfort of passengers. Four-zone automatic climate control is provided along with triple-spoke sports steering wheel having a telescopic adjustable column. Infotainment system includes Audi's unique navigation plus with voice control, Bluetooth wireless technology for mobile, audio streaming, music interface with iPod integration and BOSE surround system with 14 speakers and noise cancellation feature.
For optimum safety of passengers, advancements like driver and passenger dual-stage airbags, Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with traction control and Electromechanical parking brake have been packed within the model. Such features help the newly launched RS7 to avoid any adversary and maintain the balance on uneven terrains.
Under the hood, this 4-wheel drive model carries a 4.0-litre V8 engine that churns out a mammoth 552 bhp with 700 Nm peak torque. It is melded with an 8-speed tiptronic automatic transmission, which enables the car to reach 0-100 kmph mark in just 3.7 seconds. Although, Audi RS 7 is capable of attaining a top speed of 305 kmph, it has been electronically limited to 250 kmph. Such statistics completely defies the configuration of this car, which can easily capacitate 4 passengers. Still, it is an achievement for the auto maker to develop enormous power from this super sportscar. Interestingly, Audi RS 7 is not a fuel gulper and does provide 15 per cent more mileage than its predecessor, which is pretty impressive.
Coming to the price range, 2014 Audi RS 7 bears a lofty tag of Rs. 1.29 crore and directly competes with the likes of Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and BMW M5. This German trio has been at combat in almost all segments of cars and a similar rivalry is continued in sportscar segment as well. It must not be forgotten that Audi has recently bagged the title of country's largest luxury car manufacturer in 2013, with more than 10,000 units being sold during the period. It is the first time ever that the company has crossed 10,000 mark since its advent in the domestic market. These accomplishments are laudable and it will be really interesting to see how the auto giant maintains its spot in the upcoming time.
