Reports have revealed that the first batch of Tesla vehicles which comprise of the Model S, in the S70 and P90D versions, have been despatched by the brand to Malaysia.

First batch of Teslas Model S units despatched to Malaysia

Sources suggest that this lot of Model S units will be of the facelifted model which was introduced earlier this year, and will have one P90D all-wheel drive version, while the rest of the units will be of the S70 rear-wheel drive variant. With the P90D, the 504bhp output can get the car to hit 100kph in 3.3sec before going on to reach a top speed of 249kmph. The S70, on the other hand, produces 315bhp and 440Nm, and this model can displace 100kmph in 5.8sec and go on to hit a top speed of 230kmph.
The Malaysian government had provisioned a special programme earlier this year to provide a duty-free benefit to boost sales of electric vehicles. It is claimed that this batch of Tesla cars heading to Malaysia is going to take advantage of this programme and pass on the benefit to the end buyer. It’s nice to notice the global trend of offering benefits to encourage buyers to make that shift to electric vehicles.
