Fiat has released a teaser video of its upcoming hatchback, Argo, through its YouTube channel. The Punto-replacer will be launched in Brazil in the next few days.
The Argo is based on Fiat’s extended 326 modular platform. The company has been testing this new hatchback quite often for the past few months. This is the first time that the Argo has been revealed in its production form. However, Fiat has made sure not to reveal any important bits of their most awaited car. The teaser revealed LED lighting for the car - headlamps, daytime running and fog lamps. The wheels seem to be inspired by Abarth and it’s the same case with the grille.
The teased car was an automatic but the Argo will be available in manual transmission too. The Argo is expected to come in three versions - attractive, essence and sporting. These versions will be available with three powertrain options – 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, 1.3-litre naturally aspirated petrol and the 1.8-litre diesel with a five-speed manual gearbox.
Fiat has been selling the Punto in India since many years now. While the car hasn’t been able to set the sales charts on fire, it will be interesting to see if the Italian maker brings the Argo to the fastest growing car market in the world.
