Ahead of its launch in South American markets in 2018, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has released the first set of interior images for the Fiat Cronos. Last month, the exterior images released by the company reveal that the vehicle will get a contoured bonnet and sleek headlamps like the Argo hatch. Post launch in the international market, the vehicle will compete against the Volkswagen Virtus. Sometime later, the Cronos might be introduced in India as a replacement for the Linea.

As seen in images, the Cronos gets a similar dashboard as the Argo hatchback with a different colour used for the trim pieces. The vehicle will also get chrome door handles and dark shaded circular AC vents. Additionally, the car also gets a flat bottom steering wheel with controls, 520-litres of boot space and a large seven-inch infotainment system. Reports indicate that the top spec model might also get faux leather upholstery and in terms of safety it will get dual front airbags with ABS and EBD.

The South-America spec model will be available in a 1.3-litre petrol engine that generates 107bhp of power and a 1.8-litre flex-fuel engine that generates 137bhp of power. The smaller engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission, while the bigger engine comes mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The international market might also get a 1.0-litre three-cylinder Firefly petrol engine which is also called as the GSE (Global Small Engine). If launched in India, the Cronos is expected to continue being powered by a 1.3-litre Multijet diesel and the 1.4-litre T-Jet petrol engine options. Although five-speed manual might be offered as standard, the vehicle might also get an optional automatic transmission.
