The Italian automaker, Fiat is all set to launch the much-awaited Abarth 595 Competitizione in the Indian car market this month. Adding to it, the car maker is also gearing up for the launch of its internationally acclaimed Jeep brand in 2015. The company will introduce the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Cherokee, while an all-new SUV will be introduced in the early 2016. Interestingly, Fiat is also aiming to launch the performance oriented Abarth Punto EVO for the Indian market.
The Abarth Punto EVO is expected to go on sale in the country by the festive season this year. Moreover, the company is also planning to introduce the Abarth version of its Avventura crossover. Under the bonnet, the hot hatch will get the 1.4-litre T-Jet engine that churns out a maximum power output of 165bhp and a peak torque of 250Nm. It accelerates to 100kmph from zero in less than 8 seconds.
The Abarth Punto will be equipped with several safety features including seven airbags, Electronic Stability Programme, Hill hold assist, Anti-Lock Braking system with EBD and hydraulic brake assistance. The Punto Abarth will get several features like 17-inch alloy wheels, side skirts, side graphics, side vents, and new diffuser, wider bore twin exhaust tail pipes, etc. Inspired from the successful Abarth S2000 rally car, the Abarth Punto Evo gets aggressive front fascia with front bumper features an aerodynamic splitter to guide air flow beneath the car.
