Fiat is all set to launch the Abarth 595 Competizione in India tomorrow (August 4, 2015). First unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, the Fiat Abarth 595 Competizione will compete against the Mini Cooper S. It will be brought to India via CBU (completely build up) route in limited units.
Talking about the engine, the Fiat Abarth 595 Competizione is powered by a 1.4-litre T-jet MultiAir turbocharged petrol engine that puts out a maximum power of 158bhp at 5,500rpm and 201Nm of peak torque at 2,750rpm. In Sports mode, the same engine produces torque up to 230Nm. It comes mated to a 5-speed AMT (automated manual transmission) gearbox with manual override system.
Front fascia of the car features signature Abarth Scorpion badges, HID headlights, a sunroof and a low front bumper with graphite insert. Other styling elements include special 17-inches alloy wheels wrapped with Pirelli PZero 205/40 tyres, side body decals, twin exhausts, sporty rear bumper and an integrated roof mounted spoiler. For improving its performance and aerodynamics, Fiat has reduced the height of the hatchback by 105mm.
As far as the features are concerned, the Fiat Abarth 595 Competizione comes equipped with audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, automatic climate control, sports seats and steering mounted controls. For safety purpose, the hatchback gets seven airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system), EBD (electronic brake-force distribution), ESD (electronic slip differential) and torque transfer control.
The Fiat Abarth 595 Competizione is expected to be offered within the price bracket of 26 lakh – Rs. 30 lakh (ex-showroom).
