Maruti Suzuki launched Ciaz in the later part of 2014 and is now ready with Ciaz+ to be launched this year. The z+ variant will be available in both petrol as well as diesel versions and will be priced between Rs. 9.10 lakhs and Rs. 10.40 lakhs. The z+ trim additionally gets a 7-inch touchscreen smart play infotainment system with GPS navigation and voice command, Bluetooth, smartphone app mirroring, USB, AUX-in, leather-wrapped steering wheel as well as seats, 16-inch alloy wheels instead of 15 inch, projector headlamps and reverse camera.
The new smart play touch screen is the main feature of the z+ sedan. The new technology enhances the artificial intelligence operating system. It offers Bluetooth connectivity and songs playback from smartphone. The system comes with an inbuilt global positioning system (GPS) that supports navigation and voice commands for the dictation of the path. The infotainment system also supports smartphone app mirroring, and the phone can be connected to the car by the use of this system. Calls answer and message dictation replay is also supported by the voice commands. The smart play system also has basic functions like FM-radio, CD player and all the necessary essential things.
The leather wrapped seats are new, and come in different colour combinations. The quality of leather is good and plush. The leather is soft and feels comfortable while driving, and also feels cosy in long drives. Also, the leather cover in the steering is smooth and has a fine grip. The leather is soft and easy to hold and doesn’t slip from the hands of the driver. The 16-inch alloys instead of 15-inch helps the car in reaching the desired speed and also increases the pick-up of the car to a great extent. The suspensions fitted alongside the car alloys doesn’t let any jerk reach the car body and is absorbed by it.
Projector headlamps are provided as a must have in the z+. The intensity of these lamps is very high and allows seeing through any object. Projector lamps are specially designed for the emergency situation when the driver cannot see through the darkness or fog present in the area. The reverse parking camera helps the driver to park and reverse the vehicle carefully. The reverse parking sensor is placed at the rear end of the car and is connected to the screen present in the dashboard. The driver can then see the screen and park accordingly. The z+ comes in with many additional features as compared to z(o), and is much more advance than its previous version.
