The feature list and speculative pricing for the facelifted Hyundai Grand i10 has been leaked ahead of its official debut next month. The car gets some new cosmetic bits, expanded feature list and a new diesel engine.
Firstly, the India spec car has been spotted sans camouflage and sports most updates from the European spec car save for the grille mounted daytime running lamps. We have detailed the changes to the new car in this story.
As a part of the upgrades, Hyundai has updated the feature list of the B-segment hatchback raising the standard once again for what to expect from cars in this part of the market. The most major update is that this facelifted Grand i10 will in the top-of-the-line variant get a new touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto Compatibly. Also included in the package is a reversing camera and the option for voice commands. The entire touchscreen system was being offered as an optional extra in the current and will now become a standard option for at least two variants. Hyundai also included a climate control system which again like the touchscreen infotainment system is expected to be offered on at least two variants.
A speculative price list has also been leaked for the facelifted Grandi10 and from this it is believed that the new car will be priced in the range of Rs 4.5 lakh to Rs 7.32 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). In the petrol models, we can see that Rs 32,654 has been reduced from the price of the base variant while Magna, Magna AT and Sportz models have got a price hike of Rs 4497, Rs 2687 and Rs 2329 respectively. The top-of-the-line petrol Asta AT (O) has been priced at Rs 6.84 lakh.
The diesel range will get a new 1.2-litre engine whose power is expected to stay the same but will get a definite hike in torque. Here the base 1.2 Era variant has seen a drop of Rs 9370 while the Magna and Sportz variants see a hike of Rs 10,325 and Rs 20,692 respectively.
Compared to its major rival, the Maruti Suzuki Swift, these speculated prices indicate an undercut of Rs 21,000 in the base range and Rs 12,000 in the top-of-the-line diesel models. The added advantage is that the Grand i10 in this variant also offers more features. It also undercuts the Tata Bolt and the Ford Figo in a similar manner in terms of pricing.
