The spy shots of the test mule shows a semi covered facelifted version of the new Chevrolet Beat doing test rounds on the city roads. Individuals can comprehend from the images that the new beat will feature a changed front bumper and a larger front grille. Besides, the new model shares several characters with the new Chevrolet Spark, which was showcased at the New York International Motor Show 2012. In fact, the company is in the process of re-engineering its entire portfolio in the country by the end of this year. The first in the series was Chevrolet Tavera, a best-selling car from Chevrolet in the Utility Vehicle (UV) segment. The revamped version of the Multi Utility Vehicle (MUV) was showcased at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. The next in-line to get a facelift was the Chevrolet Captiva and Cruze, which were both introduced with upgraded engines and features. GM India is also planning to phase out the models like Aveo, Aveo U-VA and the Optra to give a way to new entrants like Sail U-VA hatchback and Sail sedan. Bringing Beat into limelight, the car maker is planning to bring considerable changes with few external and internal specifications in the 2012 Beat over its current model. The interiors will be designed even better with a number of quality improvements. It is also possible that the Chevrolet Beat powertrain will be replaced by Ecotec, a new breed of small-displacement units which offers a better performance, greater mileage and has considerably decreased CO2 emissions. This engine has a lightweight design and few technological upgrades, including turbo charging, direct injection and alternative fuel compatibility. As far as exteriors appearance of new model is concerned, the entry-level car will feature new stylish headlamps and redesigned fog lights, adding to its appealing nature. The car may also get considerably bigger 15-inch wheels. Other upgrades which are likely to be possible within the new model include new dazzling alloy wheels, stylish tail lamps and a sporty rear bumper. The car is predicted to hit the Indian showrooms by the end of November 2012 and may give considerable fight to its competitors in same segment, including Hyundai i10, Maruti Suzuki Ritz, WagonR, Volkswagen Polo, Nissan Micra and Hyundai Santro. The entire portfolio of GM would be updated with the launch of facelifted Beat.
