The exteriors of new Swift have received several changes, including LED fixtures around fog lamps, new set of alloys and reworked bumpers. Reportedly, the LED lights seems to have a similar shape as the one equipped within the new model of Hyundai i20. Coming to the interior changes, the new Swift has received a new backlight system, which changes colour according to the style of driving. The facelift version of Swift has been also provided with a screen, which automatically judges eco-friendly driving.

Along with, the car gets a new dual jet engine technology, which blends idling stop system and regenerative braking mechanism to the performance oriented 1.2-litre K-Series engine. Interestingly, the same engine powers the pre-facelift model of this hatchback, JDM Swift. With a fuel efficiency of 26.4 kmpl, this model is said to set new benchmarks in Japanese auto market.

It must be noted that Maruti Suzuki has recently introduced a limited edition model of its flagship hatchback Swift, named RS, in the Indian auto market. Reportedly, this Swift is around Rs. 24,500 costlier than the regular model. Industry experts are of a view that the launch of a reworked model has come at a time when Maruti Suzuki was witnessing fall in its sales, which is due to slowdown in the market.
