      Euro spec Honda CR-V breaks cover, production to commence this September

      Honda Motor Company, the Japan based auto giant, has unveiled the European rendition of its top selling crossover SUV, Honda CR-V, which earlier debuted at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. The production of this Euro spec CR-V is set to commence from September this year at the company’s manufacturing facility at Swindon, U.K and will hit the market in earlier phase of October 2012.

      Designed exclusively for the European markets, the new CR-V will embody marginal facelift on the exteriors keeping intact the premium interior appeal. However, the company will be offering a wider range of engines for the dynamic European market.

      Honda CR-V intended for Europe will be blessed with three engine variants - 2.0L i-VTEC petrol, 2.2L i-DTEC diesel engine along with a new 1.6L turbo diesel engine. Even the performance of these engines have been upgraded with petrol engine offering a peak power of 153 hp and rise in torque by 2 Nm and diesel engine outpouring a maximum power of 148 hp and 350 Nm of maximum torque. With ramped up performance, the company claims to have stepped up the fuel efficiency along with curtailing the emission levels substantially.

      With lower ground clearance, improved aerodynamics, lower cargo floor, upgraded designing of luggage area and bigger wheels and arches; Honda CR-V is well armed to woo the European markets. Moreover, the sportive appearance of the SUV is further alleviated with the incorporation of restyled front bumpers and LED daytime running lights, while the new power tail light has been fitted especially for the European buyers.
