      Electric Cars Best Alternative for the US Market

      American car buyers are actively looking at options to replace their dependence on fossil fuels to run their vehicles. Electric cars are emerging to the best replacement for their growing commutating needs, also with a view to decrease their dependence on fossil fuels. Electric cars are also becoming the fastest growing choice of car buyers in the US owing to the fact that most of the buyers are opting to “Go Green”.

      Nissan Leaf is touring at least 22 American cities for its sales and promotion in the US. Industry experts believe that there will  be at least 1 million electric cars on the US roads by 2015. Nissan recently showcased its latest zero emission model “Leaf” at the Los Angeles Dodger Stadium to introduce the car to the US market. Los Angeles Times confirmed this welcoming tour of the USA that the car is to enterprise in 22 cities. Toyota Prius Hybrid is also a successful electric car model already in the US market.

      A coalition of energy companies, auto makers and shipping firms, called the Electrification Coalition, is also working actively on reducing ‘American addiction’ towards fossil fuel cars. This coalition intends to have at least 75 percent of the miles driven by electricity by the year 2040. "The risk of a sudden and prolonged interruption to steady world oil supplies looms over the U.S. and world economies," it said. Since electricity can be generated via various means such as wind, sun, water and also coal, it can be easily used as a cleaner and greener replacement of fossil fuels.
