The new trend shows that it is great to develop more than two motorcycles on the same platform. BMW has done it successfully in the past and now it seems Erik Buell Racing is trying to follow the similar path. It had recently developed the 1190RX super sport bike and launched 1190SX roadster. Now the American company has shown its inclination to launch 1190AX, which has been touted as an adventure version on the same platform. This information was revealed by Gary Pietruszewski, who is the vice president of global sales department of EBR at the EICMA held in Milan. In this context, KTM also showcased its Adventure 1050 at this vent and will soon be looking forward to make it production ready.
However, for the enthusiastic fans, the news is that the bike will not make it to the market in 2015, so there is pretty less chance of the model being displayed at the EICMA show in 2015. However, now that Hero MotoCorp is in the picture as well, courtesy its partnership with EBR, surprises might be a common factor.
The 1190AX is expected to have an 1190 cc V-twin engine, which coolly generates around 185 bhp at 10600 rpm. The peak torque output speculated from the mill is of 138 Nm at 8200, which is pretty decent. However, the model has been touted as an adventure version, so you might as well expect some modifications in the engine. Though there has been no official disclosure about the release date as well as specifications, it will definitely add spice to this segment of bikes.
