Ducati XDiavel launched at Rs 15.8 lakh

The Ducati XDiavel and the XDiavel S, despite sharing the moniker with the Diavel are very different from the power cruiser. They are built around a brand new steel tubular trellis frame with a single-sided swingarm. The exhaust system is tucked under the engine, and flaunts the artistic rear wheel. It gets a 3.5-inch digital display mounted below the handlebar, which shows information about the rider aids and electronics along with other basic functionalities. The ergonomics have been designed to offer a laid back riding position. Ducati offers XDiavel customers the option to choose between five seats, three different handlebars and four footrest positions.

Both the XDiavel and XDiavel S are powered by a Testastretta L-Twin engine, borrowed from the Ducati Multistrada. This state of the art 1262cc liquid-cooled mill delivers 155bhp and 129Nm of torque through a belt drive, a first for Ducati. . The 17-inch wheels ride on adjustable 50mm inverted front forks and an offset rear monoshock with preload and rebound adjustability. The electronics package includes cornering ABS, traction control, rider modes and a launch control system. The XDiavel S gets a different set of wheels, a bluetooth module, infotainment system and a more premium seat over the standard bike.

Paint options for the XDiavel and the XDiavel S are limited to black, though the latter comes in a glossy paint as opposed to the former’s matte finish. With this price tag, the XDiavel will rival the likes of Triumph Thunderbird Storm and the Harley-Davidson Breakout.
