Ducati has launched the updated version of the Diavel in the ‘Diesel’ avatar at Rs 21.72 lakhs, ex-showroom. The name Diesel is not an allusion to the fuel used for the motorcycle; it is the name of the fashion brand that Ducati has collaborated with for a limited edition Diavel. As such, only 666 units of the Diavel Diesel will be made globally.

The Diesel has a host of cosmetic updates that distinguish it from a regular Diavel. Some of the changes include hand-brushed stainless steel bits with exposed welds, scarlet bits like the intake covers, brake callipers, LCD dashboard, and five of the links in the chain. The exhaust pipes have a black Zircotec ceramic coating and are tipped with machined ends with a pyramid logo.

Mechanically, the Diavel Diesel is the same as the regular Diesel – powered by a 150bhp, 1200cc twin-cylinder engine with variable valve timing and electronics that would make a MotoGP bike proud.

There is no word on how many Diavel Diesels will be allotted to India, but suffice it to say that they will be rare examples here. The Diavel Diesel competes with the Yamaha Vmax, and the Triumph Rocket lll will also be a contender once its BS-lV version is launched.
